The Challenge
Journi is the travel platform with a memory. Its founders, Emma and Aoife O’Keefe-Molloy, built it around Travel DNA: Journi’s evolving picture of each traveller’s pace, preferences, standards and non-negotiables. Journi plans every trip from that memory, and every choice a traveller makes teaches it more.
With Founding Travellers waiting for access, the founders wanted launch to deliver that promise in full. A personal trip only works if every recommendation is real, because a restaurant that has closed or a gallery in the wrong city costs a traveller’s trust. Language models will confidently describe places that don’t exist, so that guarantee had to be built into the platform rather than asked of the model.
Travellers also needed to change a trip as easily as asking a concierge, and to book what they had planned without leaving Journi. And Journi’s own developers needed code they could take forward.

How We Worked
We delivered the work in five fixed-price milestones, each signed off before the next began.
Checked places. We rebuilt how Journi plans a trip. Instead of generating names, the AI now chooses from a verified list of real venues for each destination, so every restaurant and sight it recommends exists. The approach also keeps Journi within Google’s terms of use.
Changes in plain words. We rebuilt Cody, Journi’s AI concierge, so travellers can change a trip by describing what they want and see it done in seconds. Every change also teaches Journi more about how they like to travel.
Booking from the itinerary. We integrated seven booking partners, including Booking.com, Agoda, GetYourGuide and Viator, so travellers can book hotels, tours and tickets straight from their trip, and Journi earns a commission when they do.
Built to grow. We put cost controls on every AI and mapping call and automated testing around trip planning, so costs stay predictable and changes can ship safely as Journi grows.

The Outcome
In two weeks, Journi became launch-ready. Every restaurant and sight on a trip is real, changes take seconds, and seven booking partners are a tap away.
Journi’s developers take over a codebase in strong shape: about 13,000 lines of old code retired, automated tests up from 250 to more than 1,300, and a written guide to every milestone. Journi is now preparing to welcome its Founding Travellers at nextjourni.com.
“Hypership took Journi from promising to launch-ready in two weeks. We’re genuinely excited to put it in front of people.”
Aoife O’Keefe-Molloy, Co-founder, Journi
