The short answer
Who is Hypership?
Definition
Hypership is an AI consultancy based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, founded by Kyle Davidson, formerly Technical Director for AI at Kainos, and Shannon Holgate, formerly Director of Software Engineering at Magnite. Its forward deployed engineers embed with client teams to build production AI systems for startups, scaleups, and public-sector organisations across the UK and Ireland.
Consulting, here, means building. We work as forward deployed engineers: senior people inside your repo and your standups, who learn the problem by shipping against it and stay until the system holds up in production.
AI made writing code cheap. Understanding your problem and getting a real system live is the work that's left, and it's the work we sell. The case studies show it; everything we run, from a one-week discovery to a full build, is on the services page.
Why Belfast
Why work with a Belfast AI consultancy?
Serious engineering talent and a public-sector-heavy economy. A local partner who has shipped production AI beats a London agency at London rates.
01 · Talent
Engineers, not account managers.
Belfast trains engineers in shipping at scale; it's the city that grew Kainos. Our founders led AI at Kainos and software engineering at Magnite, and they're still the ones in the repo. Founder-led means the person who understands your problem is the one who ships it.
02 · Public sector
Fluent in how this economy buys.
Northern Ireland's economy runs on the public sector, and we're built for it: on the procurement frameworks below, and the makers of BidSonar, tender intelligence for UK and EU public-sector bids.
03 · Reach
Local roots, not local limits.
We built and launched Signals, a continuous-feedback platform, with Software NI, and we work with teams across the UK, Ireland and worldwide. Remote-first, in person where it adds value.
Procurement
On the frameworks the public sector buys through.
Three compliant routes to engage us, already in place. No novel procurement required.
Framework 01
The Crown Commercial Service framework for cloud software and services. A direct, compliant route to buy our cloud and AI work.
Framework 02
The UK government's Artificial Intelligence Dynamic Purchasing System, its dedicated route for procuring AI services.
Framework 03
The Digital Outcomes framework, used by public bodies to commission teams that deliver digital projects end to end.
Buying for a government or public-sector team, in Northern Ireland or anywhere in the UK? Mention the framework when you get in touch and we'll route it properly.
How we engage
How an engagement works.
01 · Launchpad — about a week
Discovery
A short, embedded engagement that turns a fuzzy AI initiative into a decision you can defend: what to build, what it will cost, and where the risk sits.
Discovery02 · Pilot, then Ship
Build
End-to-end delivery of production software you own. A pilot of roughly four weeks proves value; SHIP takes it to full delivery, in your repos, shipping weekly.
Build03 · Embedded enabling team
AI Enablement
We transfer AI capability into your engineers and operators, then step out. An AI-native way of shipping that outlasts the engagement.
